Queridos Ladies & Gentelmen,
We are MYSYBARITAS your Spanish Gourmet Food Store in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.
Today we are going to talk about Albea Blanca's EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) collection.
It is composed of 4 different Olive Oils, that are extracted from four different olive varieties, from four different parts of Spain, each of them are delicious.
These are: Cornicabra olive (red bottle), Hojiblanca olive (yellow bottle), Manzanilla olive (green bottle) & Koroneki olive (blue bottle).
First though, I would like to explain, what Extra Virgin Olive Oil means:
The term Extra Virgin means the oil is a virgin olive oil that is extracted from healthy, fresh olives, purely by mechanical means, without the use of heat or solvents.
Cornicabra (red bottle)
This Olive Oil has ample medium intensity, green fruitiness, with notes of freshly mown grass and aromatic herbs, with hints of apple, green leaves, artichoke and other vegetables. On the palate presents a distinct pleasant bitterness and medium-high pungency, with a long lasting aftertaste of green almonds flavor.

Cornicabra olive variety is autochthonous from Toledo, a province situated in Central Spain. We have selected a beautiful olive grove in Los Navalmorales, a small location in the North side of Cabañeros Nature Reserve, which houses botanical richness with different bioclimatic zones creating several unique ecosystems.
The olive tree of this variety is late flowering and late olive maturing; upright bearing and thick foliage density; medium-low vigor and medium length branches; light-gray wood color and light-green leave color. With featured strength to resist contrast climates of the Mancha area, with very low temperatures in winter time and high during the summer, allows trees enjoy the amounts of water, hours of cold and light, necessary for its optimal growing.

The Cornicabra olive, notably resistant to detachment, has a peculiar elongated and slightly curved shape, reminiscent of the shape of a horn. With big bone inside and less pulp around, but high oil yield and extremely rich in nutrients, which provide high levels of Polyphenols (natural antioxidants) and long life to the oil once bottled.
USES: Ideal for your favourite roasts
Hojiblanca (yellow bottle)
This variety is characterised by green leaves fruity aroma, with notes of freshly mown grass, apple and almonds. Fresh and slightly sweet, low unripe fruits bitter taste and defined pungency. A complex flavor and a lingering aftertaste of apple savor.
Hojiblanca olive variety is autochthonous from the central part of the South of Spain. We have selected a very special olive grove in Priego de Córdoba, in the Cordovan Subbética mountain system, at the South-East of the province of Córdoba. A Natural Reserve area comprised between hilly mountains, with great ecological wealth, botanist value and beautiful landscape, surrounded by vegetable gardens, streams and other water courses, floristic richness and forests of poplars, willows and elms.
Renowned for its regular productivity and its strength resisting wind and the contrasted climate of La Mancha, a region of very low temperatures during the winter and high in summer, but that allow the trees enjoy the amounts of water, hours of cold and light, necessary for its optimal development during the gradual weather changes that occur throughout the seasons.
This olive tree variety is of medium vigor, upright bearing and quite thick foliage, with off-white and light olive-green leaves color (whence the name) and grey-green wood color; late maturing and not constant in its productivity; very resistant to calcareous soil and considered rustic, because of its resistance to long drought periods, typical of the area most part of the year.
USES: Improves flavours of fishes and carpaccios.
Manzanilla (green bottle)
Intense green fruitiness rotund aroma, combined with notes of freshly mown grass and green almonds, along with some banana hints. Nice balanced bitterness and pungency, from medium to low intensity, and a smooth texture. Complex and elegant harmonic persistent aftertaste, filled with an extremely fresh flavor.
Manzanilla Cacereña olive is a native Spanish variety from the area of Extremadura, situated in Central West Spain, bordering Portugal. We have selected olive groves from Sierra de Gata-Hurdes (Eljas) in the province of Cáceres, at North Extremadura, extraordinary environmental setting and beautiful scenery, where fertile plateaus alternate between steep mountain areas. Bathed by five rivers creates a magnificent ecosystem, with glens of dense vegetation, intermingled with pine forests, ancient chestnut and strawberry trees, and small hills filled with heather and herbs, such as rosemary, rock rose and lavender, from which bees feed to make honey.
The olive tree of this variety is early flowering, upright habit and less dense open cup with disjointed appearance, low vigor and long branches. Very well adapted to the region damp and cold weather, the trees enjoy the amounts of water, hours of cold and light, necessary for its optimal development.
USES: Goes really well with rice dishes and homemade mayonaise.
Koroneki (Blue bottle)
Green fruitiness aroma and tasty herbaceous notes, standing out hints of freshly mown grass and a ripe banana and tomato long lasting aftertaste. Considered sweet and nutty, combined with stimulant low bitterness and subtle pungency.

The Koroneiki olive is a native Greek variety from the Peloponnese peninsula, located in South Greece, bathed by the Mediterranean Sea, so it magnificently develops in Spanish lands, even better when entering in Greenwich Meridian area, which by Latitude and Longitude is especially suitable for olive trees.
